@yoderkl It is possible to change the max temp via firmware, but there are several factors stopping us from doing that...
The higher the temperature, the harsher the environment for the lamps, the shorter the life of the lamps. Because of this we don't want to raise the maximum temperature without evidence that it is necessary. Many will unnecessarily use the higher temperature regularly under the more is better philosophy.
The only materials we see that are specifying a temperature over 60C are Formlabs' Rigid, Grey Pro and Dental LT Clear. These materials are not available for testing with the exception of Dental LT. Our hunch with the higher temperature for these new materials is simply decreased cycle times, especially for Dental LT to reduce potential for yellowing.
Having said all of that, it is a stretch to get the original CUREbox to 80C. The heater and fan are barely up to the task so the preheat time is approaching not practical. Becasue of this, if we decide to increase the maximum temperature in a firmware update it will very likely be for CUREbox Plus only. At the moment, the negatives far outweigh the positives so we will only increase the maximum temperature if we see evidence that it is necessary.
